Purchased to go with a Trunki,
The real test of this product will come when we take our next trip, but I have some initial impressions of this product. I bought this because we purchased a Trunki and wanted to supplement the lack of outer pockets. This product seems very well made and durable. The velcro is heavy-duty, which is so important on kids’ things. I hate when Velcro is wimpy and goes bad.
I also love the colors. They are bright, but not obnoxious. For most people the blue/green/orange will probably seem pretty boyish, but I think they could go either way. Also, boys usually only get navy and red, so this combination was a refreshing change.
I like that the scale of this bag is perfect for a 5 year old. It is not too big, but large enough to carry some travel essentials (crayons, doodle pads, books). Don’t count on packing much other than travel diversions – unless it is always carried as a shoulder bag, it seems like things could get smashed on the sides of the Trunki when the bag is thrown over like a “saddle”. There is also a nice padded shoulder strap for when this is carried as a bag.
It is nice that there is a place to write your child’s name (ID tag). It drives me crazy when there is nowhere to do this on my son’s things. It makes sense to have this right on the fabric rather than as a hanging luggage tag, which could get ripped off.
There is a really confusing looking series of diagrams that show you how to convert this into a saddlebag for the Trunki. I looked at them a few times before deciding that it would have been easier for me to figure out if I had never looked at the diagram. It is pretty straight forward and good that the bag attaches underneath the Trunki. When I ordered, I wondered how it would stay on. I recommend trying to do it first without looking at the pictures that include SEVEN steps to transforming into a saddlebag.
Finally, there is a little squeaky horn built in. My son is gonna love this. I can see this getting squashed and the squeaker breaking, but I wouldn’t be heartbroken…
After seeing this bag, I think Melissa and Doug should think about making a child’s backpack with some of these features. They really put a lot of thought into this design.

|neat,
This saddle is a great addition to your Trunki! I have found it thus far to be very durable and extremely handy. My 2 yr old is amazing in the airports now riding on her Trunki.. This saddle bag solves the problems reviewers have mentioned about the locks on the Trunki itself coming undone in the airport. The straps to the saddle wrap completely around the middle of the bag and can be cinched down snugly. I have not had any problems with the locks coming undone and spilling with the saddle on. (I think that was a unique design “flaw” made to encourage the purchase of the saddle as well as the Trunki!)Well worth the amazon price!

|Suit the purpose!,
No fun value, no educational value, just something that put on will make my kid to feel comfortable while ridding. Consider it is expensive, but it is a necessity.
