Kids Summer Fun Activities

It is obvious that kids want to have summer fun and there is no doubt about this. But what is the key to all this and how can a parent ensure that kids are well entertained and they enjoy their summer holidays? The secret has to do with the summer fun activities you plan for them in terms of choice. Learn more on the different types of activities which you can engage the kids in to ensure that they are kept busy and that they enjoy the company of others making socialization successful. Consider activities like crafts for kids, fabulous recipes, summer games, outdoor fun and many others just to keep your kids entertained.

Pretty pencil pin wheel is a common and simple activity and one which can keep the kids on board for a very long time. Pinwheels are generally an age old craft, which is very common with grandmas and kids develop a lot of interest in it. It is just a matter of putting together all the activities and scheduling them in a good way to avoid boredom. In this activity what you will need is a colored cardstock or just some construction paper, a pencil with a new eraser, stick pin, scissors, white craft glue, patterns and some sequins. With these requirements met you can get started on your activity.

For kids, they will always find it as great fun. The next step involves making them learn more on how to do it through providing proper guidance and making it as simple as possible to help them understand. This is a challenge and it requires a lot of concentration on your side as the leader. Start by printing the pattern on a plain piece of paper using either a copier or a printer. This will help you to get a plan for what to work on and help you make the appropriate steps to follow in your sequence.

You can then continue cutting a square pattern out of the paper and this is through a follow up of the solid lines. Make sure that you are perfect in the cut to avoid later blunders or getting the undesired results. By laying a specific pattern on top of your colored paper continue in the pursuit of tracing the square and then cut it out from that same colored paper. Always keep that pattern as a square on top by either holding it in place with the help of your fingers or using a tape to place it down lightly and this should be for both sides. This makes the activity great fun and easy to do.

From there, you can cut through the pattern by following the dotted lines but make sure you avoid the centre circle. Use a stick pin in poking out all the holes at every corner and this should be done by following the pattern indicated on the paper. Then take a specific corner which has a hole and fold it slowly towards the main center placed at the center top of initially holed corner. This should be repeated for all the corners to make sure that all the four get to meet at the center. From there you can push the thumbtack towards the center of your pinwheel into the eraser of your pencil and do this by making sure that the pinwheel does not spin. From here, you can add sequins to the formed flaps of your pinwheel and dry it.

Another summer fun activity for kids is the treasure hunt map which is also enjoyable and involving for the kids. What you need is a drawing paper large in size, crayons, stop watch, the treasure, side brown paint, a paper bag, water and a few paint brushes The first thing is to conduct a good survey of the camp ground where you are likely to use for the treasure hunt activity. Jot down some few notes in a paper on how you plan to create your map and then draw it making sure that you have already decided where to hide the treasure. The hiding spots must be marked with a bright pen so as to make it clear and age the map through crumpling it on the hand.

The edges can then be torn so as to make it look really aged. Some brown paint may be necessary to mark the edges and always allow it to dry to avoid any damages.

Hide your treasures and make your list of the hidden treasures with some few instructions to guide the kids in the game. When playing the game do it by giving the participants the list of what to find or tell them by word of mouth and hand them your map to act as a guide. Start a stop watch and then end it when your participants are back with the treasure. Having fun will be quite easy when this process is well undertaken.
