My cat loves this toy!!!, November 28, 2008

I am always looking for new toys for my cat, she has just about everything out there. One day I came across this product and decided to give it a try. My cat loved it! She plays with it all the time. She is really rough with it, flips it over, pounces on it, climbs through the holes and it holds up very well! She loves it when she climbs in it and we dangle the cat teaser on the outside of it!

The only thing is I feel the holes on the sides are a bit on the small side. It does not really make a difference for my cat though because she is very tiny (only 6 lbs). I would think a much larger cat may have some difficulty climbing through the holes.

The dangling toys are nice, which for my cats keeps my rating from being a “1″–that and that I suppose the toy might be OK for very small cats, kittens up to around 4 or 5 months old, or for cats who make it a point to play very quietly and sedately, if there is such a thing.

My two 6-month old Bengals have this thing stripped down to almost all its components within 5 minutes of being presented with it . . . hmm, come to think of it, I guess I could give the toy a 5+ star rating if there was a way to rate it on 5 minute playtimes. :-)

Anyway, this thing is way too small and not nearly robust enough for even medium-sized cats IMO, and not for any cats regardless of size that like to play “rough”.

In fairness, note that my review is based on my experience with it and TWO cats. It might hold up a little bit better with single cats, but for what this way overpriced thing is, you’d be as well off to cut a couple of holes in a cardboard box, tie some TP tubes to a chair back, and let your kitties play with that–cheaper, more fun, and longer lasting.

BTW, my wife bought this thing at our local PetSmart.
