Not very bouncy, nor very bright — and they arrived quite oily and smelly!, April 16, 2011

These “bouncy balls” are somewhat bouncy, but not as bouncy as a “Superball”… also, they do glow in the dark somewhat, but not as brightly as typical glow-in-the-dark materials.

They are roughly manufactured, with rough and jagged casting parting lines.

The truly ODD thing about these balls is that when I took them out of their plastic bags (24 balls in each of two bags), that they felt quite OILY, and smelled strongly of perfumed kerosene, or possibly WD-40. I assume that this was an unexpected outcome of the manufacturing process, in a Chinese factory where quality-control is simply not up to American standards.

I was able to remove most of the oil and smell by giving them several good baths with hot water and dishwashing detergent.

As-delivered, the balls are quite unsuitable for use as a toy or gift.

Sorry to say, but save your money if you are expecting these balls to glow in the dark. Someone else noted that they didn’t glow for long….ours didn’t glow at all. Tried “charging” them in natural light and with artificial light..no go, no glow! Disappointing.
