Fisher-Price Fun-2-Learn Teaching Clock Reviews

I’ve been searching for a “learning clock” for my 4-year old and happily my search ended with the Fisher-Price Teaching Clock. My son enjoys playing with this and has grasped time telling on the hour and the half-hour. I’m sure that more detailed time telling will follow. But in the meantime there is no pressure to learn.
The clock chimes on the hour, and on the half hour. You can choose from different sounds or no sound at all.
The little portion of the clock has the real time in digital format. The clock hands do not move automatically, they are designed for the child to move. When the child moves them, the clock informs them as to what time they have picked. It doesn’t really show in the picture, but the big clock face shows the seconds… e.g. behind the number 1 is a small 5, behind the 2 is a small 10, behind the 3 is a small 15. I really like that part.
The only thing missing is a second hand. But once a child masters the skills presented in this toy, he or she will easily understand the second-hand concept.
There are two volume choices, two skill levels, and 3 buttons for Learn, Match, and Game.
This is a well-thought out learning toy. It even has a bit of personality… the big clock is “Tic” and she does the talking. The little clock “Toc” is the side-kick. My son likes this toy, and he is gaining familiarity with time concepts and time telling. When the time comes for him to really learn and understand these concepts in school, he will have a bit of a head start, and, hopefully, he won’t be intimidated. I highly recommend this toy for as early as 2 or 3… and just keep it available for them to play with until they are in school and solid on telling time.

My 3 year old nephew loves to look at the digital clocks around the house and tell us what time it is and when he saw this in the store he begged me for it. I finally gave in and ordered him one and he loves it. When we took a recent trip to visit family he insisted he take “toc” with us. He loves the play mode where you have to clap 7 times or touch your toes 5 times before time runs out. Even his 1 year old brother loves to play along too! This was a great teaching tool and has been well worth the money.

Fisher-Price Fun 2 Learn Preschool Center Reviews

I purchased this for my 2 yr old for Christmas. Like others the clock did not work. However; my son just loves the piano and drums so much that he did not notice the other part not working. I called fisherprice and they sent me a new clock/keyboard free of charge and that one did work. I was very suprised that FP had an item that did not work. There customer service was excellent. I really wish this item came with the stool pictured on the box. I think I finally found which stool that is. It looks like the green MAMMUT Children’s stool sold by IKEA. I am going out today to get it since it is hard getting a single chair anywhere. They usually come in pairs. Besides all the problems this item had at first, I would definitely recommend it. I am giving 3 stars since it did not work at first and because it doesn’t come with the stool. Otherwise it would have 5 stars.

My parents bought this desk for my almost 2 year old daughter for Chanukah. We were very excited about this gift and we thought that our daughter would love it. When my dad put it together, I was disappointed that it did not come with a little chair or stool, but I figured I could look past that. However, I quickly learned that this desk has a major flaw. The desk is designed to lift to reveal a piano. When the plastic top is down to cover the piano, it can easily be lifted. It doesn’t lock into place. My daughter accidentally slammed the plastic desk onto her fingers. We also have a baby and I immediately became afraid that the baby would try to pull up on the desk to reach for the piano and end up getting her little fingers hurt.
Believe it or not, this serious design flaw was not the only problem with the desk. Not one hour after it was assembled, it stopped working. We tried using different batteries – even though the batteries we put in the first time were brand new – and it still didn’t work.
Normally Fisher Price toys are great, but this one should have been better designed.

University Games Super Why ABC Letter Preschool Game Reviews

My 30mth old loves this game. A little long to play at his age, but it is designed for a little older age range. The four decks of cards are designed to increase literacy skills. If you draw an Alpha Pig card, you match the lower case letter on the card to the upper case letter on the board, Princess Presto cards you find the letter that the picture starts with. The last two sets of cards are a bit further along in development then he is(game is for 3+ by design), but that only means the game has room to grow with him. Wonder Red cards you need to rhyme with the words on the card, and Super Why cards, you replace the silly word with what makes sense. My husband and I assist him a lot if he lands on the last two set of cards. My son does not seem to mind and I love how educational and fun this game is. I love the great way to reinforce learned skills and introduce new ones. The best is he does not mind to wait his turn. This game not only would benefit the preschool crowd, but even K-1 remediation skills for those with delays or lack of prior exposure. I am buying a copy for my classroom for the literacy center.

My kid, at 30 months old, can watch the Super Why TV show — and be thoroughly entertained — he even appears to be understanding a great deal of what is going on, and sometimes supplies the correct answers at the appropriate times during the show. But in the format of a board game, he can maybe answer the questions of one or two of the characters. Obviously this is because the game is dependent on correct answers to progress, unlike the show.
Anyway… it looks like it is going to be a great first board game for my son a year from now — I’d just also like to drop the warning (like another reviewer) that the target audience for the game might be a little older than what’s on the show.

I Spy Preschool Game Reviews

This game was given to our 3 year old as a gift and he loves it. His little sister, who is two, also loves this game. This game really helps to develop a childs ability to concentrate on visual cues. It is basically a matching game combined with a puzzle concept. There are no complex rules to learn, so within minutes of opening the box any child can begin to play and enjoy this game. As each match is made the child receives immediate reward and motivation to find a new match. Best of all is that this is a simple game with no buzzers or bells and is best played with the TV turned off.

This concept is a great for little kids. Personally I think it is geared towards ages 2-4 yrs. Problem is, there are only so many pieces and it took my daughter 2 times to memorize the game. She was 3 and I found it too easy for her. She loves I Spy but this game isn’t worth it. Get the momory game instead

Melissa & Doug Deluxe 10-Piece Magnetic Fishing Game Reviews

My nine month old thought that this was the best thing ever! Magnet on fishing rod easily grabs the pieces, making it great fun and not overly challenging. Only complaint is that he chewed the pieces and some of the coating easily came off. Overall, lots of fun for hours. A must have!

I bought this for my almost-2 year old niece. She and her 4 year old sister both enjoy playing with it and, according to my sister, it provides some welcome QUIET play time (so many toys lately come complete with loud, electronic NOISE).
Recommended!
