I bought this as an activity for my sons birthday. It was quite a hit. All kids loved it (age 5 to 11) even the adults got crazy about it. I bough a set of plain cards at the craft store and after we made our objects we attached them to cards and made beautiful cards for the next party we go to. You can write a message on the front of the card as well and make it for any occasion. Good buy!

This game is uniquely designed, and out of the ThinkFun deduction solitaire games, the least sequential. That, plus its visual scheme that encourages youngsters to think in overlaid patterns, makes it excellent for visual-spatial reasoning development.

Typical of the Thinkfun solitaire games, the puzzles are arranged in stages, from easiest to most difficult (four stages for Clever Castle). However, the game only begins to really test deductive skills a few puzzles into the second hardest level, named “Hard”. This means that the truly fun challenges are limited to less than twenty total. In fact, the only real drawback I can find in the game is the limited number of levels. It would be nice if ThinkFun would at least offer extra levels, either for free on the web or as a paid add-on.

I would not be afraid to get this game for a child in the 3-4 year old range. They would at least be able to do some of the puzzles, and could grow into the harder ones over time. My 4-year-old was able to finish all 40 levels, though not at one sitting.

I bought this game for an older child, but my 4 yr old is figuring it out and she likes it a lot. she can only do the easiest puzzles now, but there are so many different ones that get progressively harder, I’m sure she will enjoy this game for several years. Very good problem-solving toy. Great quality, as is every Thinkfun game I’ve seen.

Rush Hour is the mind-challenging game of pure bumper-to-bumper fun! Players set up the cars and trucks on a game grid to match one of forty color-coded challenge cards, and then try to maneuver the red car to escape the gridlock. Four levels of play range from beginner to expert. Measures 9″W x 8″H x 2.5″D.Honk! Honk! It’s gridlock and the little red car can’t move. The player is a traffic cop in the Rush Hour Traffic Jam Puzzle where the objective is to get the red car off the road. To play, pick one of 40 challenge cards; solutions are printed on the back of each card. Then set up the cars and buses in a specified pattern on the 6-inch-square road grid. Move the vehicles one by one (obey those traffic laws!) until the red car can escape the traffic jam. There are four levels of difficulty. The concept is so simple it’s ingenious. Drive your car in a straight line. But if you’ve ever been in NY during rush hour, you know that’s not always easy. I am of course referring to gridlock, that bane of city traffic, when no cars can move. Well in Rush Hour, you get to move around all the cars and trucks to clear a path for yourself. The game comes with a set of cards (easily stored in the plastic tray) that show where to set up the cars. That takes a minute, but some of the puzzles take a long time to solve. They range from very easy to very hard. And Binary Arts sells extra card sets so the fun never ends! This game is sure to make a lot of kids into civil engineers. As for durability, you could probably throw this game out the window while driving on the highway, and it would be ok. Just better hope it’s not rush hour!

My two children ages 8 and 7 love this, as do my husband and I. It’s great in building thinking skills. The challenging cards are enough to stump the adults, yet the beginner cards are a great starting point for the kids. A great game to take places where you have to sit and wait for awhile. I highly recommend it!

This is a great toy to develop your child’s strategic thinking. The game is relatively simple. Organize your frogs as per the cards, jump one frog over the other and remove the jumped-over frog. The objective is to leave just one frog. You can only jump `adjacent’ frogs along the lines (see picture). The recommended age is 8 but younger children (supervised!) are just as enthralled. I had to improvise on the instructions, but I’ve taught the concepts to two 3 year olds – my buddy’s son and my own. You will be amazed that they get it!It is the greatest travel game. My son got this when he was 3 years old, and 4 years later it is still his first choice when we ask him to pick some toys for a trip……..and he has a GameBoy!!It is very durable, constructed very well and has seen no wear in 4 years of regular use. This is one of the toys that’ll, literally, last you a life-time.This is definitely a precursor for any parent looking to teach their kids Chess. Solving each situation requires you to think a few steps ahead.This is probably the least expensive way to develop a new dimension in your child’s brain.VARIATIONS:
This toy also comes with a single “Red Frog”. The objective is to leave the red frog standing.OTHER SIMILAR TOYS:
FlipIT – This toy made by the same company, is a more difficult version of Hoppers. It is a 4X4 grid with Turtles instead of Frogs. The turtles can be placed on their bellies (green side up) or can be turned-turtle (orange side up).
One jumps over the turtles but the turtles do not come off the board – they just flip over. They flip over each time they’re jumped over – green to orange and orange to green. The objective is to turn all turtles the right (green) side up.

At first Hoppers appears to be a very easy game but that is its charm. The game gets progressively more difficult and very challenging. Most of all this game is out right FUN! I simply couldn’t put it down. I originally bought it for my sons birthday but I had no idea how much I was going to enjoy it too. Two big thunmbs up!
