My dog is four years old. Most the time he will destroy in half an hour, but not this one. He didn’t like it. I think it’s because the poor material. It’s hurt his month and his teeth when his bit into it. All in all, I’m not recommended.

|not for strong dogs,
I have a difficult time finding toys that can endure my 3 rough tuggers & after reading other reviews…decided to give this one a try. After about 10 minutes of tugging, the circle was broken & the rope immediately started to frey. I should’ve thrown it away immediately, b/c one of the stiff fibers pierced the skin between my male’s toes…& caused him (& me) much discomfort. Like I said, I have 3 young, tough, playful pups…so perhaps this would hold up a little longer under less playful conditions, but I was truly less than impressed with it’s performance. It also made me question that if the fibers were stiff enough to pierce my big boy’s skin…what damage could it do if ingested…???…just a thought.

This toy is fantastic for my 6-month-old, 100 lbs Mastiff puppy!! Since he doesn’t like rubber toys but only soft ones, he goes through a lot of toys. This one holds up better than most, but in addition he really LOVES it!! I’ve had several of the different jute toys at this point, and will keep buying more. One caveat: they makes a MESS! Once he has got going on it, the strings of jute are everywhere, and so is the stuffing, some kind of bamboo sticks. Don’t avoid getting the toy, but limit your pups play with it to a specific area –not carpeted!– in your house for easier clean up, or if you can, to the outside. This toy is great for a large/giant breed!
