He is generally referred to as the grandfather of the modern skiing sport. This is because he invented Slalom during the early 1800′s. The Slalom is what we refer to today as Telemark skiing.

Though requiring thorough skill, skiing is not so hard to learn. You can even learn how to ski without going to school and under the instruction of anybody. Once you perfect the skill you will enjoy ski fun with family and friends every winter, if you get an opportunity. In some areas skiing adventure is available throughout the year besides winters.
